What I build

Custom AI development for
Hull businesses.

Four ways to work together, from a first assessment to a system your team uses every day.

Where AI tends to help

The local economy,
and the work behind it.

Hull and the Humber run on ports, logistics, manufacturing, energy, property and professional services. Each carries its own mix of documents, knowledge and repeated decisions. These are the kinds of problems custom AI is suited to.

Ports, logistics, energy and engineering

Orders, delivery notes, certificates, technical manuals and specifications move between people and systems. Document processing, agents and knowledge assistants can extract, check, route and answer from approved material, with people handling the exceptions.

Custom AI applications

Property and lettings

Records, certificates and tenancy paperwork need to stay current and easy to evidence. AI can read certificates, track renewals and draft correspondence for approval.

AI for letting agents

Construction and trades

Site paperwork, document packs and compliance records follow every job. Drafting and tracking can be supported by AI, with competent people reviewing and signing off.

AI for contractors

Professional services and training

Accountants, solicitors, advisers and training providers handle client documents, onboarding and repeated questions. AI can prepare, extract and draft, leaving judgement with the professional.

Why a local AI partner

Small, experienced
and accountable.

Nirox Labs is a small, founder-led practice. You work directly with Liam Silk, the founder and engineer who scopes, builds and hands over your system. There’s no account manager relaying messages and no junior team learning on your project.

That brings direct access and clear responsibility. It also means I’m open about continuity: every system is documented and handed over so it doesn’t depend on one person, and any ongoing support is agreed in writing before you rely on it.

I keep the first version focused, test it against your real work and make it understandable to your team. If an existing product would serve you better than a custom build, I’ll tell you. How a project runs

Map. Shadow. Own.

A focused first version. Tested in the real world. A clear path to what comes next.

01

Map.

We work through the outcome, your data and the systems involved. You get a focused scope, success measures and an agreed price before the build.

A problem worth solving.
02

Shadow.

I build and test against real examples. Where the system takes action, it runs alongside your existing process first while your team reviews the results.

Evidence before dependence.
03

Own.

I deploy, document and hand over the agreed system, with running costs and responsibilities defined. Ongoing engineering is available as your needs grow.

Your system. A clear way forward.

Questions from Hull businesses

Discuss your AI project
What does an AI consultancy in Hull do?

I help Hull and East Yorkshire businesses work out where AI is genuinely useful, then design and build it: custom applications, knowledge assistants that answer from your own documents, and agents that take permitted steps across your systems. Where a simpler tool or automation would do, I’ll recommend that instead.

Do we need to be technical?

No. Bring the outcome you want, an example of the work and the systems involved. I handle the technical design and explain the trade-offs in plain terms.

Can you work with our existing software?

Usually. I connect through the APIs, databases and file stores your systems provide: CRMs, email, accounting and practice-management tools, shared drives and more. I confirm your specific systems during scoping.

You’re one person. What if something breaks?

It’s a fair question. Everything I build is documented and handed over, with monitoring and logs agreed during the build, so another competent developer could maintain it. Ongoing support is available, with response expectations and responsibilities agreed in writing before you rely on it.

Do you only work with Hull businesses?

No. Hull is my base; I work with businesses across Yorkshire and the UK, mostly remotely.

AI consultant or AI agency: what’s the difference?

In practice, who does the work. Nirox Labs is one engineer: the person you speak to on the first call is the person who scopes, builds and hands over your system. There is no account manager and no hand-off to a separate delivery team. The trade-off is capacity, which is why I keep the first version focused and document everything.

Automation or AI: which does my process need?

Automation follows fixed rules, which is often all a process needs. AI helps when the work involves interpreting documents or language, or choosing between permitted next steps. I recommend the simplest thing that works, and sometimes that is neither. See AI agents with approval points for where agents fit.

Do you work outside Hull?

Yes. Most of the work is done remotely for businesses across Yorkshire and the UK.

What does it cost?

The first conversation is free. After scoping, we agree a fixed price for the defined work, with hosting, model usage and any support estimated separately. Book a call to talk it through.

A useful first conversation

What could AI do for your Hull business?

Bring the problem, the process or the idea. I’ll tell you what’s possible, where the risks are and whether a simpler tool would do.
